He completed Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry from M.S.College under Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. His academic brilliance continued at University Teaching Department of Chemistry Muzaffarpur , a Main campus of Bihar University Muzaffarpur where he secured 1st class M.Sc. in August 1991.
Determined to pursue doctoral research , Dr. KUMAR JOINED the School of Chemical Science at DAVV Indore as Junior Research Fellow (JRF from 1992-1994) under DST-GOI fellowship in 1992 followed by Senior Research Fellowship (SRF from 1994-1995). Delete CSIR becouse JRF and SRF both fellowship was funded by DST not CSIR.
